Canchis Province is one of thirteen provinces in the Cusco Region in the southern highlands of Peru.
The province is divided into eight districts (Spanish: distritos, singular: distrito), each of which is headed by a mayor (alcalde). The districts, with their capitals in parenthesis, are:
Following the independence, the province was founded as the Tinta Province. Later, on October 14, 1833 the Tinta Province was divided into two new provinces one of which was the Canchis Province, the other the Canas Province. On August 29, 1834 the city of Sicuani became the official capital of the province.
